Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie have been spending quite a bit of time together lately
Estranged couple Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie have been spending quite a bit of time together lately, and it's not just for the sake of their 2-year-old son, the singer and actress says.
Duff, 26, and her former hockey-playing husband, 33, announced an "amicable separation" in January.
But in a new interview with E! News, Duff says they're still trying to figure out what their situation is.
"We're constantly seen together and everyone's like, 'What are they doing? Are they back together? Are they not?' " she said at the first annual iHeartRadio Music Awards in Los Angeles.
"We're really good friends, and we have so much respect for each other, and obviously Luca is our No. 1 priority."
But it seems he's not their only priority.
"I think we got to a point where we were like, we really need to honor happiness. And so, whatever that is and however we need to sort that out or work that out, we're doing that," she says.
"We love each other so much, and we love spending time together. So when you see us out, it's not just for Luca. It's because we make plans, and we hang out. And we don't know what our future looks like right now, but we're both doing really good and just figuring out what makes us happy."
In spite of the turbulent times, she adds: "I think we feel really blessed."
Meanwhile, she has her hands full with various projects. Her TV show Younger was just picked up by TV Land, and she recently signed a new record deal and is planning an album for the fall.
And yes, there is Luca. "I'm just constantly on the go," she says. "He's crazy. Oh my gosh, he's the best. He's so much fun."
