Memorial Day Weekend is traditionally a great time to launch a blockbuster and “X-Men: Days of Future Past” is already snatching up some serious coin.
During last night’s preview (May 22) the latest Marvel masterpiece earned $8.1 million across 2,900 screens nationwide.
And today (May 23), Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, James McAvoy and the rest of the gang will add 1000 screens for the duration of the weekend.
At this point, industry insiders estimate that “X-Men: Days of Future Past” will cruise past the $100 million mark by the time theaters close on Monday.
