Why is Priyanka Chopra’s Mary Kom biopic release postponed?

Well, it has nothing to do with the fact that her ex-flame Shahid Kapoor’s Haider was going to release on the same date. Here’s the real reason:



A little birdie tells us that the makers of Priyanka Chopra’s Mary Kom have pushed the film’s release date further. You ask us, why? Well, the filmmakers wanted more time to work on the film so that it has a global appeal, like Farhan Akhtar’s Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. Priyanka’s film was supposed to release on October 2 along with Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif’s Bang Bang and Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor’s Haider. However, the film is now being worked upon so that it’s a one of a kind sports biopic.

Not too long ago the release date of Priyanka Chopra’s Mary Kom was announced. The much awaited biopic on the life of the boxing champion is slated to release on October 2. And now we hear that Shahid Kapoor’s Haider directed by the 7 Khoon Maaf director Vishal Bhardwaj will hit theatres on the same date.

Shahid had always maintained that the film is very close to his heart. This is Shahid’s second film with the director post Kaminey. Post this film, they will work on third film together titled Maha Kaminey which is a sequel to Kaminey.........
