You can hardly call the relationship between celebrities and endorsements news. When Michelle Obama or Kate Middleton so much as step out in a certain dress, it's sold out within minutes. And even though studies suggest that people don't actually care about endorsements, that doesn't stop companies from going to great lengths to secure their relationships with the rich and famous. 

So, it's not a surprise that the same rules apply to things like Fashion Week, too. The Sun (and consequently The Telegraph) reported Wednesday that stars like Rihanna are paid £60,000 (about $100,000) by designers EVERY TIME they sit in their front row. That is, of course, more than one person even needs to live for a full year. And when you consider how many shows Ri goes to over the course of a given fashion week, as well as the other celebrities that brands are shelling out money to for appearances (we're looking at you, Miu Miu) well, the numbers are pretty shocking. 

But is it worth the hefty price tag? Does seeing an "It" girl roll around the Chanel show in a shopping cart make you want to buy Chanel any more than you did before? Maybe -- for those who can afford to be buying Chanel in the first place. 

The benefit for designers, naturally, comes from these celebs being associated with their brand. And in a society where photos rule the social media scene and you can follow your favorite stars' every move from your smartphone, it makes sense for labels to want them in their front row. 

And OK, maybe we're a little jealous. After all, if we were offered seats in the front row at some of the biggest fashion shows of the year AND getting paid for it, we'd go to a whole bunch of shows, too.

They were sitting courtside to watch Game 4 of the Nets' playoff series with the defending NBA champion Miami Heat, Beyoncé looking picture-perfect in jeans and a matching denim shirt, her flowing hair swept to one side. 

Jay Z had on his unofficial uniform of jeans, a white T-shirt and gold chains and looked none the worse for wear after seemingly being struck and kicked at by Solange. Toward the end of the second quarter, Heat superstar LeBron James appeared to exchange a few words with the couple while he waited for a member of the Nets to shoot freethrows. 

The duo also attended Saturday's home game, but while they were fully aware of what went down, the world was none the wiser at the time. 

Security footage from the Standard hotel elevator where the apparenty altercation took place hit the web today after being leaked to TMZ. Standard management blasted the security breach, saying in a statement that they were "shocked and disappointed" and "investigating with the utmost urgency the circumstances surrounding the situation." 

What caused the heated exchange remains a mystery. 

Eyewitnesses saw Beyoncé and Solange leave the hotel in one SUV while Jay Z was driven away in another. 

Three days later, the sisters flew to Costa Rica together for a get-together involving Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams that may have involved Rowland tying the knot with fiancé Tim Weatherspoon on Friday night. 

Bey was obviously back in New York by Saturday, when she caught the Nets-Heat game with her hubby. The couple enjoyed a Mother's Day brunch with daughter Blue Ivy on Sunday and then stepped out for an uneventful dinner date.

"It's important to teach her about giving back," she said. 

Then the Oscar-winning actress graciously posed for a pic with Kristina's baby boy Mateo. 

Afterwards, Berry headed off to join her co-host, Up All Night actress Christina Applegate, who is a breast cancer survivor. 

Bruce Willis, Berry's co-star in the 2007 movie Perfect Stranger, was also there to help make a difference. 

Since the first EIF Revlon Run/Walk for Women in 1994, the events, held in both New York and Los Angeles, have raised more than $70 million, according to the charity's website.

More famous faces are sounding off following Los Angeles Clippers ownerDonald Sterling's alleged racist rant.

"This Donald Sterling Situation Is Just Truly Sad And Unbelieveable," singer Ciara tweeted on Monday, adding, "It  Also Shows You That When A Person Appears To Have Everything On The Outside, They Can Still Be Empty and Full of Nothing On The Inside."

Rihanna also shared her thoughts by way of a number of memes on her Instagram account, while director Judd Apatow served up a series of tweets that began, "My deal to buy the Clippers is closed. Lots of new rules to announce. First of all-- all races and religions are allowed to attend games," and went on from there.

And Los Angeles Lakers' star player Kobe Bryant insisted, "No. He should not continue owning the clippers. #nochance #noway #nohow."

In the wake of the controversy, some corporations have announced they are ending their sponsorship with the Clippers.

"The comments allegedly made by Clippers owner, Donald Sterling, are offensive and reprehensible, and they are inconsistent with our views and values," Kia Motors said in a statement to E! News. "We are suspending our advertising and sponsorship activations with the Clippers. Meanwhile, as fans of the game of basketball, our support of the players and the sport is unwavering." Clippers power forward Blake Griffin stars in several Kia commercials.

State Farm noted that it "strongly supports and respects diversity and inclusion in its workforce and customers.

The remarks attributed to the Clippers' owner are offensive. While those involved sort out the facts, we will be taking a pause in our relationship with the organization. We are monitoring the situation and we'll continually assess our options. We have a great relationship with Chris Paul and will continue supporting the Born to Assist advertising campaign involving Chris and now other NBA players." The Clippers point guard appears in State Farm commercials, and most recently, Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry appeared alongside Paul in a televised ad.

Earlier in the day, the couple attended Easter Sunday service at the city’s St. Andrew’s Cathedral. Kate wore a dove-gray Alexander McQueen coat and charcoal Jane Taylor hat, plus ivory pumps and a matching box clutch. She swept her hair up into her signature half-up knot. 

The next public stop on their tour is Uluru (or Ayre’s Rock), but the family headed to Canberra (and Government House there, where they will be based for the coming days). 

It was the chance for a third change of the day for Kate. She wore a Stella McCartney dress for the arrival into the country’s capital, which she previously wore in Sept. 2012 to an event at London’s National Portrait Gallery — though this time she swapped the long statement necklace for a smaller one less tempting for Prince George to grab.

The 33-year-old has worked tirelessly to shed her baby weight (an estimated 60-70 pounds, according to one expert), and has named little Maxi as one of her favorite fitness partners.

Referencing Drake's upcoming gig hosting the 2014 ESPY Awards, Jones wrote, "It's amazing that Drake is hosting the @Espys but it's gonna be tough for him to hand out all those awards to Rihanna's ex boyfriends." 

Ouch! Jones is of course referring to Ri-Ri's L.A. Dodgers ex Matt Kemp. 

Jones took to Twitter soon after to clarify her Rihanna-Drake diss, writing, "paleeeze. watching monologues of past espys, my joke was PG compared to how The ESPY Host will roast athletes there." 

Meanwhile, Drake and Rihanna got their PDA earlier this week in L.A. The duo, who have been spending lots of time together recently, were caught hugging and kissing during a Clippers game at Staples Center.
