Gearing up for another year of excellence from the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute, Taylor Swift was in the house for the 2014 Met Gala tonight (May 5).

Decked out in her custom Oscar de la Renta gown, the “I Knew You Were Trouble” songstress meandered around the arrivals area, chatting with other famous folks.

With a guest list that includes the biggest names in fashion and entertainment, there’s no telling what to expect from the 2014 Met Gala.

Designer Zac Posen previously told E!, "I think people are going to look spectacular! I think we are going to see lots of major, major gowns and very strong iconic moments. You know, it's a very cut down list so I think everyone that's going is expected to shine."

Making the most of the Big Apple sunshine, Taylor Swift headed out and about on Saturday (April 26).

Clad in short shorts and a tan trench, the "Tim McGraw" crooner looked eager to get her day started as she headed out from her apartment.

On Friday, TSwift and her pal Lily Aldridge enjoyed a friendly game of pool.

Posting pictures to Instagram, it appeared that the Victoria's Secret Angel walked away from the match victorious.

Taylor Swift isn't just BFFs with everyone in young Hollywood: She also shares the love with regular fans, as one bride-to-be learned when the superstar attended her shower.

Gena Gabrielle spent Saturday night Tweeting about Swift's Saturday Night Live cameo. The next day, she gleefully shared photos of her idol surprising her at her bridal shower in Columbus, Ohio. 

"Apparently they told Taylor she didn't have time and she said no I'm going to ohio I can't make the wedding & I promised her," Gabrielle Tweeted on Sunday, later adding, "The driver told my dad she planned the trip at 1am & said 'I need to be there and I need to be on time' so blessed to have her in my life." 

So what made Gabrielle stand out from legions of loyal Swifties? 

The Today Show reports the two have met during multiple fan meet-and-greets. Gabrielle's Twitter background picture even includes photos of her posing with a much younger Swift. 

Despite reports that Swift crashed the party – a throwback to rumors of her getting kicked out of a Kennedy wedding in 2012 – Gabrielle said the pop singer received an invitation. And she came bearing gifts, including Le Creuset kitchen supplies and a Barefoot Contessa cookbook.

Taylor Swift was spotted hanging out with supermodel Cara Delevingne while in New York yesterday, and now News has exclusive deets on what the two gorgeous gal-pals were up to while strolling around the Big Apple.

An eyewitness exclusively tells News that Swift started her day shopping at Theory in the Meatpacking District."I can confirm that Taylor shopped at our Meatpacking store at 40 Gansevoort but cannot provide any additional information," the store's rep told us.

Taylor then went to an apartment nearby, where she spent about an hour inside. There was no word as to whose residence it was, because Taylor left the place alone and went shopping at Williams-Sonoma for nearly an hour.

However, after browsing some kitchenware and home furnishings, Taylor went back to the Meatpacking District and stopped at Le Pain Quotidien to pick up two coffees.

She then returned to the same apartment for another 45 minutes and walked out with—ta-da!—Cara! The insider shares that the duo went to a Japanese restaurant at the corner of Sullivan and Spring Streets, where they had lunch for about an hour and a half.

After lunch, the pretty pair were driven to the Bowery Hotel where Delevingne was dropped off. The ladies seemed to be enjoying the music in the car, dancing around to the beat, for around 20 minutes before the runway model finally got out and left.

Cara was spotted shopping earlier in the day, while Swift also made time to bake cookies and take selfies with Olympic figure skater Gracie Gold.
