WHY DID JAI HO FAIL TO BREAK BOX OFFICE RECORDS?

WHY DID JAI HO FAIL TO BREAK BOX OFFICE !!!

A few days after Jai Ho's release, it is apparent that Salman's latest film will not touch the heights achieved by Chennai Express, Krrish 3, or Dhoom 3. It might not even touch Dabangg-2 or Bodyguard, and this is in 2014, when every other film hits 100 crores domestically.

So why did Jai Ho fail to break all the box office records we thought it would? We aren't sure, but here are a few reasons.

1. No 900 rupee tickets:

When a movie is made for the Aam Aadmi, by the Aam Aadmi, and about the Aam Aadmi, the aam aadmi will be a little miffed if the movie tickets are exorbitantly priced. Therefore, Jai Ho could not do what Dhoom 3 did, and have tickets going up to 900 / 1400 rupees. Lower average ticket prices could definitely have been a major reason for its relative box office failure.

2. Too many Z-listers:

Jai Ho was a film that celebrated the 90s - not in the right way, by giving us a hint of the golden age of dance, song and story, but in the wrong way, by bringing back actors who haven't been relevant since then. As every minute brought us another person whom time had forgotten, we felt that the film should have been called 'Jai Long Ago' instead.

3. No Rohit Shetty:

Many of us associate the word 'masala' with Salman. That's not entirely true any more; Rohit Shetty makes Salman Khan seem like a dish of dal-chawal made for someone with complete intolerance of anything spicy Read More..
