Juhi Chawla: I am extremely happy after Kolkata Knight Riders’ second victory in IPL!

In an exclusive interview, the Gulaab Gang actor talks about the recent IPL victory, films and more:

Juhi Chawla is in party mode and she has been screaming her lungs out. And why not? After all, her team Kolkata Knight Riders, which she co-owns with Shah Rukh Khan has won the IPL trophy for the second time. We caught up with the chirpy actor over the phone, and despite having a bad throat, she spoke to us about the huge victory, life after Gulaab Gang and more. Excerpts from the conversation…




Happy with a second IPL win?

Yes, I am extremely happy after our second victory in IPL. When we won it for the first time, it was indeed really special. But winning it second time is absolutely fantastic.

Who was your biggest competition this season?

For some reason I had a very good feeling about Preity’s (Zinta) team Kings XI Punjab. And yes it did turn out that they were the strongest team throughout this season...............

SRK had the audience in splits at the opening ceremony of Indian Premier League 7:



Shahrukh Khan surely knows how to entertain his audience and Abu Dhabi was the proof of it. SRK was the biggest star at the opening ceremony of IPL 7, that was held in Dubai today (April 16). He not only set the stage on fire with his ravishing dance act, but also did what the media was unable to do. Though Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma have always remained mum about their alleged relationship,King Khan got Mr Kohli to wear a huge portrait of his alleged girlfriend on his neck. We couldn’t help but laugh out loud on that one. That’s not all. SRK also conducted a swayamvar for Virat. That might have upset Anushka a bit though.

The co-owner of Kolkata Knight Riders had the audience in splits with his sense of humour. As the ceremony continued, he invited the Australian cricketer Shane Watson on the stage and got him to play the guitar and sing a song as well.........

Salman, Ranbir and John Abraham are confirmed as the owners of Mumbai, Pune and Guwahati teams respectively in the Indian Super League:



Ranbir Kapoor, Salman Khan and John Abraham bought Mumbai, Pune and Guwahati respectively in the eight-team based inaugural professional football league - Indian Super League (ISL), while former India cricket captains Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly bagged the franchisee rights for Kochi and Kolkata.

The promoters of ISL IMG-Reliance, while announcing the owners of the eight city franchises, said that the Indian Premier League (IPL) style tournament has taken its first major leap in its bid to revolutionise Indian football. The two-month tournament that will see some yesteryear international stars playing with Indian footballers will be held in September-November this year.....
