Brad Pitt's "Compulsive Nature" Makes Him a Very Good Wine Maker: Let Him Explain

In addition to his day job as a huge movie star, his architectural and environmental projects and being a father of six, the now Oscar-winning producer is also a vintner, he and Angelina Jolie being the purveyors of Château Miraval Côtes de Provence Rosé.

So who better to cover the June 30, 2014, issue of Wine Spectator than Pitt, who looks even better than that chilled glass of rosé he's holding, and his winemaking partner Marc Perrin?

"I'm a farmer now," Pitt told the magazine. "I love learning about the land and which field is most suitable for which grape, the drama of September and October: Are we picking today? Where are the sugar levels? How is the acidity? Is it going to rain? It's been a schooling for me. In the off months, I enjoy cleaning the forest and walking the land."

Brangelina's wine is produced from the fruits of the vineyard on their 1,000-acre state in Correns and, not surprisingly, the first 6,000 bottles that rolled off the line sold out online within hours in March 2013.
The vintage later got a thumbs-up from the discerning restaurateur and Master Chef star Joe Bastianich in Vanity Fair and was named the Best Rosé in the World by Wine Spectator, which slotted it at No. 83 on its overall list of the year's Top 100 Wines in 2013.

"For better or worse," Pitt continued, "given my compulsive nature, if we are going to be in the wine business, let's make the best wine we can...I asked the question, ‘Why can't we make world-class wine in Provence?' Let's approach it like a film, and let's make something we can be proud of and people can enjoy."
And he and Jolie didn't even have to put pictures of themselves on the label!
Next up, Pitt and Perin plan on venturing into the red zone.

"We envision a superb Provence red. A super Provence. Give us seven years," Pitt promised.

The Hollywood veteran, who just scored his first Oscar as a producer on Best Picture winner 12 Years a Slave, continued to explain what he likes so much about being "a farmer."

"It's very peaceful and the antithesis of the drive, the want, the need to get ahead indicative of life in Hollywood," Pitt raved about life in France. "I'm instantly reminded what quiet sounds like."

"There is a prevalent spirit of creativity here," he said, "and it is our goal to continue in that spirit. What comes out of it, I can't say yet, but we want to be true to that spirit."
Cheers to that.

Brad Pitt Files Temporary Emergency Restraining Order Against Red Carpet Attacker Vitalii Sediuk

E! News has learned that the actor has been granted an emergency protective order against Vitalii Sediuk, the man who rushed him during the Hollywood premiere of Maleficent.

The protective orders are issued by police and good for five days, so the actor will be forced to take go to court should he want a longer temporary restraining order.

In most cases, an emergency protective order is only issues when circumstances present the possibility of imminent and immediate danger to the victim.

LAPD confirms to us that they asked Mr. Angelina Jolie if he would like one issued for him shortly after the scary ordeal, which he understandably accepted.

A spokesperson from the film studio tells E! News, "This was an unfortunately and inappropriate incident that is being investigated by the LAPD."

So what exactly went down between Pitt and the notorious red carpet prankster?

An eyewitness tells us that Sediuk rushed the A-lister after deciding to jump the rope and hop onto the carpet. Sediuk apparently got into contact with Brad but police quickly took control of the situation and detained the man.

Sediuk is currently in custody after being booked for battery and being held on $20,000 bail.

In the end, it didn't seem like Brad was fazed by the surprise encounter in the slightest.

He continued to walk the carpet and smiled and waved at fans just moments later.

Angelina Jolie Has Major Makeup Mishap at Normal Heart Premiere

We would not want to be Angelina Jolie's makeup artist right now (assuming it wasn't Jolie herself).

Angie can do no wrong on the red carpet, but unfortunately the A-list actress suffered a huge makeup mishap while appearing alongside her beau Brad Pitt for the premiere of his film Normal Heart at Ziegfeld Theater in New York City tonight.

The 38-year-old's face powder wasn't completely blended in with the rest of her face makeup, leaving Angelina looking like she was baking in the kitchen all day and forgot to wipe her face before running out of the house. Oops!

Aside from the glam fumble, the mother of six looked gorgeous as always as she supported her Hollywood stud.

Angelina wore a simple, strapless black dress, while Brad looked dapper in all black with a navy blue blazer and his hair slicked back. The 50-year-old actor was one of the film's producers alongside director Ryan Murphy, which will premiere on HBO on May 25.

Earlier today, the actress, who has been busy promoting her upcoming film Maleficent, was seen running around the Upper Eastside of NYC. The Oscar winner arrived to an office building solo after leaving her hotel around noon, while her fiancé and their daughter Shiloh departed earlier in the day.

During her outing, Jolie visited Martin Scorsese's apartment, where she stayed for approximately three hours and was all smiles throughout the day.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt Joining Forces for New Movie

Could this be another Mr. & Mrs. Smith in the making?! Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are reportedly teaming up for first time in nearly 10 years for a new film project. Details on the movie are still under wraps, but one thing that is known about the mystery film is that the script was written by Jolie.

The beautiful actress hinted that she and Pitt were thinking about reuniting on the big screen back in 2012. "We're talking about it," Jolie told E! News at the time. "We have an idea."

When asked if the idea is something along the lines of a romantic comedy, Jolie responded, "We don't know how funny we are," she smiled. "And you you never know what you want to see an actual couple do. Sometimes it's better if they're not a couple."

Angelina is currently working on post-production on Unbroken, the adaptation she directed for Universal based off the Laura Hillenbrand book of the true World War II tale of Lou Zamperini. Meanwhile, Brad recently wrapped the David Ayer-directed WWII tank movie Fury, and is slated to star as Gen. Stanley McChrystal, the former commanding general of international and U.S. forces in Afghanistan, in the upcoming movie The Operators.

Deadline first reported the story.
