Salman Khan’s Kick and Shahrukh Khan’s Happy New Year shoot stalled!

The filming of several films came to a stall after a member from Ekta Kapoor’s production house allegedly beat up a union member:

Production schedules of Sajid Nadiadwala’s Kick starring Salman Khan, Farah Khan’s Happy New Year featuring Shahrukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachan, Boman Irani, Sonu Sood and Vivaan Shah, and Mahesh Bhatt’s CityLights came to a halt after more than 2000 technicians went on a flash strike yesterday (May 13). Reason? Reportedly, three technicians, who belong to the Allied Mazdoor Union were assaulted at Film City by members of Ekta Kapoor’s production house, Balaji Productions. Why? Grapevine has it that when a light man switched off the lights after the regulatory 12-hour shift, a production member allegedly beat him up, and that is what triggered the protest.......

Bhoothnath Returns movie review: Vote for Amitabh Bachchan’s return in ‘spirited’ avatar!

While the big daddy of Bollywood puts a gentle smile across your face as a magnanimous ghost, it’s the effortlessly delicious performance of young Parth Bhalerao that steals your collective hearts-as indeed it steals the thunder of Big B and as well as the show!

One walks into the theater to watch Bhoothnath Returns with a lofty promise thanks to the presence of the major draw of the movie-Amitabh Bachchan! But barely have you rested your posterior and have started warming up the seat, you realise that the real star of the show is somebody else-someone who is at least six decades younger to the big daddy of Bollywood and less than half the size of Mr Bachchan’s larger than life tall frame.............

Youngistaan movie review: Jackky Bhagnani, a good lover boy to Neha Sharma, but merely average as a politician

Jackky and Neha’s Youngistaan, a love story set against the backdrop of Indian politics has hit the theatres and here’s our verdict:

Director Syed Ahmad Afzal’s Youngistaan starring Jackky Bhagnani and Neha Sharma has released. The film is enjoyable as long as we get to see the love story between the lead pair. And as for the political backdrop of the movie, it gets a lil chaotic and unconvincing at times. One good thing about the film is, it doesn’t make you leave with a heavy-heart. It’s neither a serious political drama like Raajneeti nor a typical Bollywood kinda love story, which can’t have a happy ending because of the society. The filmmakers have tried to show that the youth of India is ready for a change. And as unrealistic as the film can be, it’s not completely dissatisfying.

Plot: Jackky Bhagnani plays Abhimanyu Kaul and Neha Sharma plays Anwita Chauhan. The duo are in a live-in relationship in Japan and are living the life which most Indian youngsters can only dream of. They are deeply, madly and crazily in love. While Jackky is a cool dude gamer boy, his live-in girlfriend walks dogs to earn a living. As the plot goes, the duo has been in a live-in relationship for three years. We get to see them partying, drinking and enjoying their life. And then that one phone call! The background music changes and we know that tragedy has struck! So what happened, you ask?..............
